LSU has made another key addition to its incoming transfer portal class.
On Wednesday evening, the Tigers landed a commitment from former South Florida pitcher Kaden Smith. The talented righty posted a 4.24 ERA and 52 strikeouts across 46.2 innings of work last season with the Bulls.
Smith just finished his sophomore season, so he has multiple years of eligibility remaining but will be eligible for the MLB Draft after next season.
He made the announcement on social media:

Smith joins a talented class of incoming transfers that LSU hopes will be enough to transform the program going into next season. The Tigers had a disappointing 2026 campaign as they missed the NCAA Tournament altogether.
Hitting was more of an issue than pitching for the Tigers, though. LSU finished No. 2 in the SEC in ERA, allowing a .219 batting average on the year. LSU’s pitching staff also struck out a league-high 760 batters.
LSU’s other top transfers include outfielder Bino Waters, pitcher Landon Hood, shortstop Dawson Park and outfielder Jason Wachs, among many others.
