No. 8 Texas A&M made it five straight series wins in SEC play, defeating No. 12 Florida 5-1 in Sunday’s rubber game to take two of three from the Gators in Gainesville.

The Aggies, who dropped Friday’s opener 9-2 before an 8-4 victory on Saturday, opened the scoring in the top of the third. After Boston Kellner led things off with a triple, Gavin Grahovac brought him in on an RBI single to make it 1-0 and extend his hitting streak to 16 games. Two batters later, Grahovac scored on Chris Hacopian’s sacrifice flyout as the Aggies went up 2-0, adding a run in the fourth on a wild pitch.

In the sixth inning, Jorian Wilson launched one over the wall just to the right of the batter’s eye to give Texas A&M a 4-1 lead.

That wasn’t the last time Wilson featured in this game. In the top of the eighth with Florida threatening to cut into the Aggies’ 4-1 lead, Cade Kurland flied out to Wilson in right. Blake Cyr tried to score from third, but was gunned down by a terrific throw by the A&M right fielder:

In the top of the ninth, Bear Harrison capped the scoring with his eighth homer of the season.

Weston Moss received the start for the Aggies and went four innings, allowing a run on four hits while walking and striking out two. Gavin Lyons was credited with the win in relief, pitching three innings of one-hit ball with a walk and two strikeouts. Clayton Freshcorn allowed three hits over two innings to close it down.

With the win, the Aggies kept pace with Georgia for the SEC’s top seed with just three weekend series left until the conference tournament.
