Oklahoma didn’t hear no bell.

The Sooners played from behind the entire weekend, but will play in the Super Regional Round of the NCAA Tournament after stunning No. 2 Georgia Tech, 8-7. Sooners infielder Dayton Tockey helped send his team to the next round, blasting a 454-foot solo home run over the batter’s eye for the walk-off win in extra innings.

Here’s a look at the game-winner, Oklahoma’s first walk-off home run in the NCAA Tournament since 2008, per the broadcast:

The Sooners rose to the challenge time and time again on Monday. After jumping to a 3-0 lead, Oklahoma saw Georgia Tech’s monster offense take a 7-3 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th inning. Oklahoma finally stopped the bleeding when a GT fielder’s choice allowed Kyle Branch to cross home plate off the bat of Cameron Johnson.

Jaxon Willits then took advantage of a reeling GT defense, smacking a double to deep left which scored Johnson.

Willits was perhaps Oklahoma’s MVP on Monday. The junior infielder kept Oklahoma’s season alive in the bottom of the 9th with his third hit of the day, which scored Johnson once again to tie the game at 7-all.

Incredibly, the No. 1 and 2 national seeds are now out of the tournament before the Super Regionals. UCLA fell to Saint Mary’s 6-5 on Sunday.

The Sooners are now set to head to Lawrence, Kansas to face off against the Jayhawks in the Super Regionals, looking to make it back to the College World Series for the first time since 2022.
