The 2025 College World Series is in the books, and it’s time to recognize the top performers in Omaha.
Shortly after LSU‘s win over Coastal Carolina, the CWS announced its All-Tournament Team. There are 11 spots on the team, the 9 defensive positions, a designated hitter and a second pitcher. More than half the spots went to players from the SEC.
LSU led the way with 4 selections. Arkansas, the other SEC program to make it to Omaha this year, landed 2 on the All-Tournament Team.
- C Adonys Guzman, Arizona
- 1B Jared Jones, LSU
- 2B Kamau Neighbors, Louisville
- 3B Jake Munroe, Louisville
- SS Steven Milam, LSU
- OF Derek Curiel, LSU
- OF Eddie King Jr., Louisville
- OF Justin Thomas Jr., Arkansas
- DH Dean Mihos, Coastal Carolina
- P Gage Wood, Arkansas
- P Kade Anderson, LSU (Most Outstanding Player)
It’s no surprise that the SEC claimed both pitching spots.
Arkansas was facing elimination when Gage Wood made College World Series history, throwing the third no-hitter in the event’s history and first since 1960. Wood had 19 strikeouts, a 9-inning record for the CWS, in his historic outing.
More history was made in Omaha on Saturday when Anderson became just the 3rd pitcher to throw a complete-game shutout in the CWS Finals. Tossing a 130-pitch gem, Anderson carried LSU to a 1-0 victory, snapping Coastal Carolina’s 26-game winning streak.
