Another exciting week of SEC baseball is in the books. On Monday, the conference named the top performers for Week 12 of the 2025 college baseball season. The conference is recognizing 5 players for standout performances.

Florida OF Hayden Yost is the conference’s Player of the Week. Yost had a big weekend at South Carolina, as UF notched its first road sweep since 2021 and first in Columbia since 1996. It was an 8-RBI series for Yost, who homered twice and scored 6 runs.

Zach Root (Arkansas) and Anthony Eyanson (LSU) are Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Root went a career-long 8 scoreless innings and recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in Arkansas’s series-opening shutout win over Texas. With Root leading the way, the Razorbacks managed a 2-hit shoutout of the Longhorns. The 9-0 victory set the tone for a series sweep, shaking up the race for the SEC title.

Eyanson went the distance for LSU in a 2-1 win over Texas A&M. In his complete game, Eyanson posted a line of 3 hits, 1 walk and 14 strikeouts. He closed it out strong, retiring 7 of the final 8 Aggie batters he faced.

Christian Chatterton (Auburn) and Brodie Johnston (Vanderbilt) are Co-Freshmen of the Week.

Chatterton was the only pitcher in the conference to earn 2 wins last week. He tossed 9 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits with 12 strikeouts and no walks in appearances against Tennessee (3 IP, 2 K) and Samford (6 IP, 10 K).

Johnston played a big part in lifting Vanderbilt to a series win over Alabama. He went 6-for-12 against the Crimson Tide, hitting the game-tying 2-out 2-run double in the bottom of the 9th on Sunday. Johnston would come around to score the winning run.

Week 13 is the penultimate week of the regular season. We’ll see which players lead the way.
