Texas A&M has its next pitching coach, according to a report.

Per TexAgs’ Ryan Brauninger, the Aggies are expected to hire Barry Enright for the role. Enright has been involved with a number of Major League Baseball organizations, most recently as the minor league pitching coordinator for the Athletics.

Enright, 40, had a multi-year pro career as a pitcher before retiring in 2019. He pitched for the Angels and Diamondbacks across 4 seasons (2010-13) and continued as a minor league player with a number of organizations until the end of the 2018 season.

Enright replaces Jason Keys, who was not retained following the 2026 season. Texas A&M’s pitching staff this year ranked 6th in the SEC in ERA and was 15th in total strikeouts.

The Aggies will be looking to take a big step forward next season with Enright heading up pitching development. Enright was hired by the Athletics after the 2025 season. Early returns were positive with top prospect Gage Jump, who began the year in the minors before getting the call last month. Jump has a 2.46 ERA across his first 3 big league starts.

Texas A&M fell short of its goals this season as it was upset in the NCAA Regional round. The Aggies have made the College World Series twice in recent years, going both in 2022 and 2024. They finished runner-up for the National Championship in 2024.

The 2026 College World Series will begin on Friday in Omaha.
