Texas’s baseball team isn’t where it wanted to be at this particular moment, which is at the College World Series, fighting for a national championship.
But the Longhorns still managed to get a huge victory in mid-June. Texas got a commitment from 1 of the best available players in the transfer portal, with Seton Hall transfer outfielder Aiden Robbins telling D1Baseball’s Kendall Rogers on Wednesday that he’s heading to Austin for the 2026 season.
Robbins was an All-Big East first-team selection this past season. The Yardley, Pa., product started 46 games for Seton Hall in 2025, and his numbers were mighty impressive. Robbins hit an astounding .422 with 16 doubles, 6 home runs and 38 RBI. He also posted a .669 slugging percentage and a ridiculously good .550 on-base percentage. Robbins’s on-base percentage was boosted by his 44 walks this season, and he can fly, too, stealing 20 bases in 2025.
Texas has now lured 4 players from the transfer portal. Robbins joins Wichita State second baseman Josh Livingston, Butler outfielder Jack Moroknek and Georgia State infielder Kaleb Freeman.
Robbins and Texas’s other portal additions will try to help the Longhorns take the next step in 2026. Texas’s 2025 season ended in extreme disappointment, as the Longhorns failed to advance out of the Austin Regional despite being the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
