Brandon Garrison has played in his share of tough road environments during his time at Oklahoma State, Kentucky, and now Alabama. Having played in the Big 12 as a freshman in 2023-24, he’s experienced the imposing Allen Fieldhouse at Kansas, among other venues.
But which one ranks as the toughest in the SEC? That’s the question Garrison was asked during SEC Tipoff on Tuesday in Birmingham. After thinking about it briefly, Garrison gave his answer.
“I’d probably say Tennessee,” the Tide big man said. “It was a dogfight. They got a good crowd that comes out, huge gym, a lot of fans. So right now I’d say Tennessee.”
Garrison’s last memory of Thompson-Boling Arena isn’t a fond one. As a member of the Wildcats, he was held to just two points in 18 minutes as Kentucky fell 80-78 at Tennessee on Jan. 17. His trip to Knoxville before that one went a little better as the Wildcats won 78-73 on Jan. 28, 2025.
Now, as a senior, Garrison will look to get one win on Rocky Top with his current team before he calls time on his college career. Alabama travels to Knoxville to face the Volunteers on Feb. 20.
