Alabama is set to hire former Oklahoma associate coach Pauline Love as its next head coach, replacing Kristy Curry who is now at South Florida.

Love, who is 38 years old, has spent several seasons in the SEC, including 2024-25 at Alabama as the Crimson Tide’s Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Last season, Love served as Oklahoma’s associate head coach, helping the Sooners to a 26-8 record.

Now, she’s headed back to Tuscaloosa.

Love also made stops at Arkansas, Southern Miss and McNeese before accepting the Alabama job, which will be her first head coaching stint. Love is an accomplished recruiter, having brought in numerous 5-star talents with Arkansas from 2017-2024, including Jersey Wolfenbarger, Maryam Dauda, and Taliah Scott. In total, Love has advanced to 3 NCAA tournaments and produced 3 WNBA draft picks.

Alabama basketball finished this season 24-11 and 7-9 in conference play, good enough to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide defeated Rhode Island in the first round before falling to Louisville in Round 2, 68-69.
