Auburn basketball lands commitment from accomplished European prospect
Auburn just made a massive addition to its 2025-26 roster.
According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, the Tigers have picked up a commitment from Serbian big man Filip Jovic. Given his résumé, Jovic projects to be an immediate-impact contributor for Auburn during his first season on campus this upcoming year.
Jovic was playing pro ball in the Adriatic League, which is among the best non-NBA pro leagues in the world. Notable NBA players who cut their teeth in the Adriatic League include Nikola Jokic, Bogdan Bogdanovic and more.
Jovic had a lot of success for a young player in the ABA as he averaged 12.2 points per game on good efficiency. He also grabbed 3.9 rebounds per game in 22 minutes of action on average.
He’ll join an Auburn front court that will be looking to replace Johni Broome going into next season. The Tigers will have almost a completely new roster next season as Jovic becomes the 10th newcomer. Bruce Pearl and his staff have amassed the No. 9-ranked incoming class in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Auburn’s incoming class is headlined by transfers Elyjah Freeman, Kevin Overton and KeShawn Murphy. There’s also 3 incoming freshmen who are set to join the class plus the No. 1 JUCO prospect in this class in Abdul Bashir.
