Florida football added to its Class of 2027 on Monday with the addition of 3-star defensive lineman De’Voun Kendrick, beating out the likes of Louisville, Georgia Tech and Texas A&M for the upcoming high school senior.
Kendrick is the 10th Gators commit in the 2027 cycle and the second addition of Monday afternoon for head coach Jon Sumrall. Florida added 4-star interior offensive lineman Peyton Miller around the same time Kendrick committed.
And while Kendrick isn’t the most highly-rated prospect in Florida’s 2027 class, his physical stature alone shows immediate promise. Kendrick stands at 6-4, 330 pounds, perhaps best as a run-stopping nose tackle in the middle of the defensive line.
He hails from Tampa, Florida, marking this as the 5th Sunshine State addition for the Gators this cycle. Kendrick is also the first defensive line commit for Sumrall and Co. in 2027. He joins cornerbacks Aamaruy Fountain and Amare Nugent as Gators commits on the defensive side of the ball thus far.
According to 247Sports Kendrick is considered to be the No. 723 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 81 DL and No. 68 player out of the state of Florida.
