Florida will take a trip to Washington D.C. this week to celebrate its 2025 National Championship at the White House, according to a report.
That’s per Gators Online’s Zach Abolverdi, who reports that Florida will visit with President Donald Trump at the White House on Wednesday, May 21. The report cites confirmation from a team spokesperson.
The trip will continue the long-held tradition of major champions visiting the White House to celebrate their accomplishment. Florida basketball coach Todd Golden previously confirmed the Gators’ plans to visit the White House.
“I’m pretty excited about that,” Golden said back on April 12.
Florida completed a remarkable National Championship run last month with a win over Houston in the title game. The Gators earned tough wins over programs like Auburn and Texas Tech en route to their first national title since 2007.
Walter Clayton Jr. earned Most Outstanding Player honors as he had multiple 30+ point efforts during March Madness. He also shot a remarkable 44% from 3-point during across 6 NCAA Tournament games.
Ohio State, who won the National Championship in football earlier this calendar year, has already made its trip to the White House.
