Florida basketball has signed Slovenian power forward Domen Petrović, the school announced on Monday afternoon. With that, a team already considered to be one of the best in the country heading into the 2026-27 season continues to load up on talent.

Petrović starred for Slovenia during the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket tournament, averaging just under 10 points and 4 rebounds per game alongside Gators guard Urban Klavzar. Together, the pair helped Slovenia win the silver medal.

The 6-9 power forward is a strong shooter and hit just over 40% of his attempts from range last season while playing for GGD Šenčur, averaging 16.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in the process.

“We are really excited to welcome Domen into our program,” Golden said, via a release. “He is a very skilled forward that has great positional size. He has shown incremental improvement every year, and he’s currently playing the best basketball of his young career. He is a high-achiever both on and off the court and will help us continue to raise the bar here at Florida!”

Petrović is the second international prospect to commit to Florida this offseason, joining Lithuanian big man Arturas Butajevas.

The Gators have an impressive roster waiting to be unleashed next November. Florida returns star members of the frontcourt in Alex Condon and Thomas Haugh, as well as Klavzar, veteran guard Boogie Fland, CJ Ingram, AJ Brown, Isaiah Brown, Alex Lloyd, Viktor Mikic and Alex Kovatchev. Finally, Denzel Aberdeen is set to return to Gainesville from Kentucky, searching for a second national title in his second stint with the Gators.

The roster is almost settled. Florida now awaits the decision of reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rueben Chinyelu, who entered his name into the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility a few weeks ago.
