Florida and Houston both pulled off incredible come-from-behind victories on Saturday night in a Final Four that featured all 4 No. 1 seeds for only the second time in NCAA Tournament history.
The Gators are looking for their first national title since 2007, while the Cougars are looking to win the first ever national title. With the game only a day away, Vegas already has the odds out.
Vegas already has the spread out in the game, and the Gators are a 1.5-point favorite over the Gaels per BetMGM. They entered the NCAA Tournament with the 2nd best odds to win the title, with only Duke having better National Championship odds.
The Gators were trailing SEC rival Auburn by 8 points at the half, but guard Walter Clayton once again showed why he is one of the very best players in the country. He finished was 34 points, scoring 20 of those in the 2nd half. He has been the guy for the Gators all tournament long, as he broke Joakim Noah’s scoring record in an NCAA Tournament. He is sitting at 123 points during this Florida run.
While the Florida comeback was great, the Houston comeback against Duke was one for the ages. The Cougars were down 14 points in the 2nd half, and down 6 with 33 seconds before outscoring Duke 9-0 to win by 3. Point guard L.J. Cryer led the way for Houston, pouring in a game-high 26 points. He knocked down the 2 free throws with 3.7 seconds left to help the Cougars win.
The over/under is 141.5 points, and that will be a big indicator on who wins this game. If it is a high-scoring game, the Gators could be in great shape. However, the Cougars could benefit from a low-scoring affair.
