Former Florida guard Xaivian Lee transfers to college basketball powerhouse

Former Florida guard Xaivian Lee has committed to Gonzaga, according to a report.
That’s according to On3’s Joe Tipton, who notes that Lee began his college career at Princeton. Lee spent 1 season in Gainesville and now is set to have another season of eligibility.
Lee is one of numerous players attached to a California lawsuit that provided a Temporary Restraining Order against the NCAA, effectively making those players eligible for the 2026-27 campaign. Lee spent 4 years in college, but is hoping to benefit from the NCAA’s new 5-in-5 eligibility policy.

While Lee is currently eligible, the NCAA has been appealing TROs that have been granted in state courts. There’s no known timetable for a final decision on eligibility standards.
Lee went undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft but played in 5 Summer League for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lee reportedly agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Cavs, but he may not have signed it — as was the case for many other class of 2022 athletes this summer who wanted to leave the door open to return to college basketball.
In his lone season with the Gators, Lee averaged 11.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
