Kentucky defeated Ole Miss 72-63 on Saturday afternoon, earning an important victory for its NCAA Tournament hopes.

The Wildcats shot just 36% from the floor, but found enough offense late in the game to secure the win. Otega Oweh, as he often does, led the way with 23 points on 12 shots. He went 10-of-13 from the free throw line in the win.

However, it was Collin Chandler who it arguably the biggest shot of the game. Nursing a 3-point lead with under a minute to go, Chandler hit a deep 3-pointer with the shot clock winding down to put the dagger in Ole Miss’s comeback hopes.

Jasper Johnson also had a big impact off the bench, as he scored 11 points on eight shots and made a trio of shots from downtown. Denzel Aberdeen led the Wildcats with five assists.

This now makes five straight wins for Kentucky after its 0-2 start to SEC play. The Wildcats have dealt with injuries all season long, but appear to be back on track toward making the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky will be back in action again on Tuesday against Vanderbilt in Nashville.
