At long last, Kentucky has its first high school commitment in the class of 2026.

On Friday afternoon, the Wildcats landed a commitment from 4-star guard Mason Williams. He’s the son of former NBA player Mo Williams, who played in the NBA for 13 seasons.

KSR’s Jack Pilgrim broke the news of his commitment:

The younger Williams is a promising point guard prospect. He attends Tennessee Collegiate Academy and is the No. 12 point guard in the nation for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 125 overall player for this cycle.

Williams is listed at 6-foot-2. He also has offers from programs such as Ole Miss and Texas Tech, among others.

Williams is the first 2026 commitment to join Kentucky’s class. The Wildcats are set to return numerous key players next season but are expected to mostly focus on the transfer portal as they build out their roster for 2026-27.

This addition comes one day after Kentucky officially hired Keegan Brown as its director of roster management. The Wildcats will hope to put an improved product on the floor in 2026-27 after a second-round NCAA Tournament exit last week.
