Kentucky had a very good season in year 1 of the Mark Pope era, making it to the Sweet 16 before losing to SEC rival, Tennessee. The Wildcats brought in a lot of guys in the transfer portal after Pope came over from BYU. Bringing those guys helped them go on the run, but we are now at the portal part of the season where schools are going to lose guys as well.
That is the case in Lexington as guard Kerr Kriisa announced he was entering the transfer portal, and on Sunday it was revealed that he would be heading back to the Big 12 to play for Wes Miller at Cincinnati.
Kriisa played in only 9 games for Kentucky this season, averaging 4.4 PPG, 3.8 APG and 2.4 RPG. In 2023-24, he was in the Big 12 at West Virginia, where he played a big role for the Mountaineers.
He averaged 11.0 PPG and 4.7 APG, while also shooting 42.4% from the 3-point line. Like at Kentucky, he was only at West Virginia for one year.
The school he has the most experience and career highlights is Arizona, where he spent his first 3 seasons. In 76 games at Arizona, he averaged just under 10 points a game, while playing a vital role on some Arizona teams that experienced success in the NCAA Tournament.
Being back in the Big 12, Kriisa get the chance to play against both West Virginia and Arizona next season.
