Kim Mulkey is in a class by herself with LSU’s latest win.
Mulkey’s Tigers improved to 25-4 on the season with an 89-73 win over Tennessee in Thursday’s penultimate regular-season game. That record makes Mulkey the first coach in conference history to win 25 games or more in each of her first five seasons.

All 4 of LSU’s losses have come in conference play. The SEC is so loaded this season that LSU is No. 6 in the rankings and fourth in the conference standings at 11-4 behind South Carolina (13-4), Vanderbilt (11-3) and Texas (11-3).
Moving forward, Mulkey’s LSU squad will wrap up regular-season play on Sunday at Mississippi State. Then it’s off to Greenville for SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, which begins March 4.
With the regular-season conference title out of reach, LSU would take an SEC Tournament championship trophy, but the Tigers really want to win the NCAA Tournament. At prediction market Kalshi, LSU is currently priced as a long shot to win it all.
