LSU picked up a new piece for its 2025-26 roster.

According to reports, Israeli scoring guard Ron Zipper will play for Matt McMahon’s program next season.

Zipper, who turned 22 in January, will have 4 seasons of college eligibility. Per Eurobasket.com stats, the 6-4 Zipper averaged 10.5 points over 19.1 minutes per game in 2024-25 for Hapoel-Altshuler-Shaham-Beer-Sheva in an Israeli professional winter league. Zipper made 46.7% of his 2-point attempts and 36.4% of 3-pointers.

McMahon and his staff are in the process of building the 2025-26 roster after a disappointing 2024-25 season. The Tigers opted to retain McMahon despite a 14-18 overall record and a 3-15 mark in SEC play last season. LSU declined one of the SEC’s 2 automatic bids to the NIT.

LSU has had a busy offseason. The Tigers have added 7 players via the transfer portal. The Bayou Bengals are also returning bigs Jalen Reed and Robert Miller while bringing in a trio of incoming freshmen.
