Fans of Tennessee opponent Wofford did not appreciate a slip-up by TNT announcer Jim Jackson.

The 2-seed Volunteers drew the 15-seed Terriers for their first-round game at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, a familiar SEC venue. Jackson, calling the game alongside Brian Anderson for TNT, was heard referring to the Wofford Terriers as “the Terrapins” twice closely together.

Awful Announcing captured Jackson’s error and shared it to X (formerly Twitter).

Multiple fans, including at least one Vol, took note of the mistake. A Virginia Tech fan found the perfect GIF for the situation.

Jackson is unlikely to have to worry about keeping the Terriers and Terrapins straight. Tennessee led by 15 points at the under-4 timeout, as the Volunteers look to be marching on to the second round.

It’s an unfortunate mistake, but Jackson has overall been praised for his March Madness work on Thursday.
