Mark Mitchell plans to enter transfer portal following preliminary injunctions

Former Mizzou forward Mark Mitchell and all other Class of 2022 athletes who exhausted their eligibility last spring are now eligible for a 5th season. In lieu of the US District Court in Colorado’s ruling and other similar rulings, Mitchell has entered the transfer portal looking for a new home in 2026.
If Mitchell is indeed able to play in 2026 as it appears he will be, he’ll be a massive addition for whichever school adds him.
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game last season while shooting 54.7% from the field, improving his numbers considerably from his first to second year at Missouri. Mitchell originally started his career at Duke and played 2 seasons with the Blue Devils before landing in the SEC.
Mitchell went undrafted in the 2026 NAB Draft but played with the Denver Nuggets Summer League team, averaging just under 5 points per game.
The former Tiger is definitely not the only high-profile CBB star to enter the portal, taking advantage of these recent rulings. He joins former UCLA guard Donovan Dent, former Ole Miss guard AJ Storr, Providence guard Jason Edwards and SMU guard BJ Edwards, who also used to play for Tennessee.
