Ole Miss basketball has reportedly signed Australian guard Ben Henshall to its 2026-27 roster, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Borzello on Tuesday night.
Henshall is 22 years old and has spent the last 3 seasons with the Perth Wildcats in the National Basketball League (NBL). On top of that, he’s played for Australia’s senior national team in FIBA (the Australian Boomers) and has attended the NBA Draft combine. Henshall withdrew from the Boomers a little over a week ago.
Ole Miss‘s hope, according to Borzello, is that Henshall will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.
Henshall is set to be one of several newcomers for head coach Chris Beard and the Rebels, including 6 transfers and 3 freshmen. He’ll likely carve out an important role right away, utilizing his international experience and 3-level scoring ability.
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the NBL during the 2025-26 season while shooting 31% from 3. While playing in the Asia Cup qualifiers with the Boomers, Henshall averaged 11.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists across 4 matchups.
The Rebels are looking to improve off a 15-20 season in 2025 — Beard’s first losing record since arriving in Oxford.
