The 2026-27 college basketball season tips off in just a few weeks, and exhibition matchups are underway throughout the country.
On Wednesday, the Associated Press revealed its preseason All-America Team. All 5 players hail from power conferences, including 2 out of the SEC: Florida forward Thomas Haugh and Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner.
Michigan State’s Jeremy Fears Jr, Illinois’ David Mirkovic and Arizona’s Motiejus Krivas were also named preseason All-Americans.

According to ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello, Louisville’s Flory Bidunga, Duke’s John Blackwell and UConn’s Braylon Mullins are among those receiving the most votes without an All-America nod. Kentucky‘s Milan Momcilovic, Tennessee‘s Juke Harris and Florida‘s Rueben Chinyelu were also notably high on the receiving votes list.
Haugh’s presence on this list should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody. The Gators star was named preseason SEC Player of the Year and played a key role in Florida’s 2024 national title run. He, Chinyelu and Alex Condon make up perhaps the most feared frontcourt in the country.
Tanner is a rising star who played exceptionally well in the Commodores’ tournament run last season. The Vandy guard is as shifty as they come, a strong defender and a reliable scorer who finished just outside the top 50 nationally in points and assists per game last season.
