Red Panda attended to after scary fall during halftime of WNBA game

Red Panda is a sports halftime entertainment icon. Fans around the country are concerned after the acrobat was injured while performing at a WNBA game.

Rong Niu, who uses Red Panda as her stage name for her show of catching and stacking bowls while riding a unicycle, was performing at halftime of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship game between the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx at Target Center. She fell off her unicycle and required medical attention.

Niu appeared to injure her wrist in the accident. Fortunately, ESPN notes that Niu that did not appear to lose consciousness. ESPN did not have an immediate update on Niu’s condition.

Originally from Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, Niu came to the United States at the age of 19 when she moved to Orlando. She later moved to San Francisco, where she continues to reside.

Niu began performing for sports audiences in 1993. She was featured on season 8 of America’s Got Talent in 2013.
