We’re less than a month away from the 2022 SEC Tournament (March 9-13). Entering Saturday’s full conference slate, No. 1 Auburn is atop the standings with a one-game lead over No. 5 Kentucky.
Bruce Pearl’s Tigers are in bounce-back mode after falling to Arkansas on Tuesday night. ESPN’s College GameDay is at Auburn for the Tigers’ game against Texas A&M.
Speaking of Arkansas, the Razorbacks are on a conference-leading 9-game winning streak. Eric Musselman’s squad, a projected No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, is at Alabama on Saturday.
Kentucky, currently a projected No. 2 seed, is on a 5-game winning streak. The Wildcats host a Florida team that is on a 4-game winning streak of its own but isn’t currently projected to make The Big Dance. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has UF as the “First Team Out” in his Friday Bracketology update.
LSU-Mississippi State offers some Bracketology intrigue. Will Wade’s squad is a projected No. 7 seed while MSU is listed in the “Next Four Out” group.
Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee enter Saturday’s contests undefeated at home. The No. 19 Volunteers, winners of their last 3, host Vanderbilt. UT is currently a projected No. 5 seed.
