South Carolina basketball lands transfer commitment from ex-Big Ten starter

South Carolina basketball has landed a transfer commitment from an ex-Big Ten starter. Former Wisconsin forward Aleksas Bieliauskas is headed to South Carolina, according to DraftExpress.
The 6-foot-10, 235-pound Bieliauskas started in all of his 23 appearances as a freshman last season, averaging 4.9 points and 4.4 rebounds. Bieliauskas converted 37 percent of his 3-pointers in Big Ten play.
Bieliauskas scored a season-high 17 points in a 91-88 win at national champion Michigan on Jan. 10. Bieliauskas drained five 3-pointers in that victory.

Bieliauskas is regarded by 247Sports as the No. 65 player in the transfer portal. Bieliauskas played for Lithuania during the 2025 U-20 Eurobasket tournament en route to a silver medal. During the tournament, Bieliauskas amassed 12.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Bieliauskas racked up a double-double in the championship game vs. Italy.
In 2024-25, Bieliauskas played for Zalgiris II in the Lithuanian NKL. He averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds while also shooting 39.3 percent from the 3-point line. Bieliauskas also played three games for Zalgiris in the LKL, which is Lithuania’s top league.
South Carolina went 13-19 last season in Lamont Paris’ fourth year at the helm. South Carolina’s season ended with an 86-74 loss to Oklahoma in the first round of the SEC Tournament.
