Lamont Paris continues to build a new roster via the transfer portal.

South Carolina picked up a new transfer commitment on Wednesday. USF transfer Kobe Knox is heading to Columbia to continue his college basketball career. Knox, the brother of Arkansas‘ Karter Knox and the Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Knox, shared the news on social media.

Knox is coming off a redshirt junior season in which he played in 30 games, making 22 starts. He posted the most productive scoring numbers of his career with 324 points, an average of 10.8 per game. Knox logged 92 rebounds, 48 assists and 34 steals on the season.

Last season, as a redshirt sophomore, he notched 12 games with double-digit points. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 277 points, 97 rebounds, 51 assists, and 18 steals, appearing in and starting all 33 games.

The move to South Carolina is the second transfer for Knox. He began his career at Grand Canyon, redshirting in 2021-22 and playing in 2022-23.

Paris and his staff have been busy in the transfer portal after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign in which South Carolina missed the NCAA Tournament and declined one of the SEC‘s automatic NIT bids. The Gamecocks have also added center Christ Essandoko from Providence and guards Treysen Eaglestaff (North Dakota) and Meechie Johnson Jr. (Ohio State)
