The 2019-20 college basketball season is still in full swing, but NBA mock draft season is also heating up.
The 2020 NBA Draft won’t take place until June, but now that the league’s trade deadline has passed, it’s easier to see which teams are trying to bottom out and which are competing for the playoffs.
This week, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman released his post-deadline mock draft, and as you can see below, he has 5 SEC players going in Round 1:
- No. 1 — Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia — Golden State Warriors
- No. 5 — Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn — Minnesota Timberwolves
- No. 12 — Tyrese Maxey, G, Kentucky — New Orleans Pelicans
- No. 23 — Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt — Denver Nuggets
- No. 26 — Robert Woodard II, F, Mississippi State — Boston Celtics
It’s interesting to see neither of the probable SEC Player of the Year front runners — Mississippi State’s Reggie Perry and Kentucky’s Nick Richards — listed in this mock draft, but we’ll see if they can work their way into the Round 1 talk over the next few months.
