5-star running back recruit sets commitment date, includes 3 SEC finalists

One of the top recruits in the Class of 2027 is ready to announce where he will be playing college football next year.
Landen Williams-Callis, a 5-star prospect, has set a commitment date of Aug. 1. The elite running back will decide between 5 schools, including 3 from the SEC.
Out of Richmond (Texas) Randle High School, Williams-Callis is listed as measuring over 5-7 and 190 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he’s rated the No. 3 running back, No. 4 player in the state of Texas and No. 29 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

As one might expect, Williams-Callis has been widely recruited. He picked up a whopping 70 scholarship offers during his recruitment. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the schools that expressed interest in Williams-Callis.
For the commitment announcement, it’s down to the 5 schools that hosted Williams-Callis in May and June. Mizzou, Texas, Texas A&M, Houston and SMU are the 5 finalists, Williams-Callis told Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
