College GameDay is back and that means it’s time for hilarious signs. Week 1’s edition at LSU featured a ton of creative ones, even a kid putting Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels on blast. A young LSU fan wearing the former Heisman Trophy quarterback’s No. 5 LSU jersey held up a sign that said “Jayden, don’t sue me. I’m only 7.”

The trolling message is in response to Daniels sending LSU a cease-and-desist after the program granted sophomore cornerback DJ Pickett his old number. Pickett previously wore No. 3 last season.

The Daniels family is deeply disappointed and feels profoundly disrespected by LSU’s decision to give Jayden’s number to another player,” a statement from Daniels’ spokesperson said. “Jayden and his family had every reason to believe that his number would remain a meaningful part of his LSU legacy and would be honored and protected in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the university.

During the 2023 season, Daniels became the third LSU player to win the Heisman Trophy after Billy Cannon (1959) and Joe Burrow (2019).

LSU has retired the jersey numbers for 4 former players: halfback Billy Cannon (No. 20), defensive back Tommy Casanova (No. 37), halfback Jerry Stovall (No. 21) and running back Charles Alexander (No. 4), and will also do the same for former quarterback Bert Jones (No. 7) on Nov. 14.
