Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz declined to give an estimated return date for running back Ahmad Hardy when he practiced earlier this week. Despite this, Hardy was not on Mizzou‘s injury report ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Late in the first quarter, Hardy finally got back on the field following recovery from his offseason gunshot wound. He picked up only one yard on his first carry, but the Missouri fans in attendance at Arkansas gave him a raucous ovation.

Overall, Hardy has two carries for five yards against the Razorbacks. Missouri is still primarily relying on Jamal Roberts with Hardy getting reacclimated to game action. Roberts, a senior from St. Louis, has 12 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers. His 2-yard score gave Mizzou a 27-7 lead.

Missouri (5-2, 2-2 SEC) still has an outside shot at a College Football Playoff berth if it beats Arkansas. The Tigers would need to win at least two of their games against No. 11 Texas, No. 3 Georgia and No. 9 Kentucky — plus a matchup with Oklahoma — to be in consideration for the CFP, but their dominant victory vs. Ole Miss shows they’re capable of toppling anybody.
