Alabama baseball bounces back, evens series with No. 6 Georgia

Alabama baseball bounced back in a big way Sunday morning, downing No. 6 Georgia 9-3. This comes after the high-powered Georgia bats obliterated the Crimson Tide pitching staff in Game 1, 19-3.
Game 2 was postponed Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning due to storms in the area. With the series now knotted up at 1 each, the deciding Game 3 will begin just after 1 on Sunday.
Georgia’s bats were practically nonexistent in this one. The Bulldogs scored 2 of their 3 runs on Saturday and were only able to add one more on Sunday. The Crimson Tide entered the day up 6-2 and added to their lead with a 3-run shot from Richie Bonomolo Jr. Check it out below:
Carson Ozman made some history in the game, too. By securing his 15th save on the year, Ozman broke the Alabama record for most saves across a single season in Crimson Tide history. And folks, there’s plenty of baseball left to be played this season.
Alabama still has a chance to host a regional, but they need to win this series if their hopes are to be legitimate. Alabama’s best series win of the season to this point came against Oklahoma in late March, but they’ve squandered the other opportunities they’ve had to add to their resume.
Let’s see if the Tide can get it done to finish out Mother’s Day.
