Alabama DB Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is glad to see his position coach dismissed from Kalen DeBoer’s coaching staff.
Kirkpatrick is turning heads with what he sent out to his social media followers after it was reported by ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel that co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Colin Hitschler is out after 1 season with the Crimson Tide.
“My safety coach just got fired thank you lord,” Kirkpatrick wrote in a social media post.

Kirkpatrick is the son of the former Alabama All-American and NFL standout of the same name. Kirkpatrick Sr. played for Nick Saban from 2009-11 before playing professionally from 2012-21. Kirkpatrick Jr. completed his freshman season at UA in 2024.
The younger Kirkpatrick appeared in all 13 games of Alabama’s 2024 season. He recorded 3 total tackles on the year, including 1 solo stop at LSU.
Like his father, Kirkpatrick played for Gadsden (Alabama) City High School. As a recruit, he was rated 3-stars and the No. 42 player in the state on the 247Sports Composite. Freddie Roach is listed as Kirkpatrick’s primary recruiter. Roach is a defensive line coach, hired by Saban and given the title of Associate Head Coach by DeBoer.
