Alabama lands commitment from elite DL transfer from Big Ten, per report
Alabama continued to add to its defensive line room through the transfer portal on Saturday afternoon, getting a commitment from Oregon’s Terrance Green, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Not only does Green come from a prominent Big Ten program like Oregon, the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder was the 4th-best defensive lineman to enter the portal during this cycle, according to Saturday’s CBS Sports report.
Green is reportedly headed to Tuscaloosa and the SEC after playing 3 seasons at Oregon. He’s a Texas native, so Green originally hails from SEC country and would be heading a lot closer to home with his transfer to Alabama. He appeared in all 15 games for the Ducks this past season, helping Oregon advance all the way to the College Football Playoff semifinals.
After registering 15 total tackles this past season, 8 of them solo, 1 tackle-for-loss and 1 pass deflection, Green has reportedly decided that 3 seasons was enough in the Pacific Northwest.
During his career at Oregon, Green had 22 tackles, 3 tackles-for-loss, 1 sack and 2 pass deflections in 25 games.
Green was a highly sought after recruit from the Class of 2023, so a lot will be expected of him at Alabama. He is the latest lineman transfer that the Crimson Tide have scooped up in the portal on Saturday alone, joining Ole Miss transfer offensive lineman Ethan Fields.
