Alabama lands transfer commitment from former Texas A&M OL

Alabama landed a pledge from former Texas A&M offensive lineman Naquil Betrand Saturday afternoon during the Peach Bowl between Ole Miss and Penn State.
Bertrand spent just 1 season in College Station and will retain all 4 seasons of eligibility. The 6-6, 342-pound lineman committed to Alabama over Syracuse and former Aggies interim HC Elijah Robinson, who is now the Orange’s defensive coordinator.
Bertrand had an official visit to Syracuse planned but committed to Alabama following a visit to Tuscaloosa.

Bertrand represents Alabama’s 2nd transfer portal commitment out of College Station, joining standout DL LT Overton. Bertrand and Overton are joined by former USC defensive back Domani Jackson in transfer commitments heading to Tuscaloosa.
Bertrand took a redshirt and did not see action in 2023 with the Aggies.
