Jah-Marien Latham will be back for Alabama in 2026. Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack revealed Wednesday that the linebacker was granted a 7th season of eligibility after missing most of 2025 due to injury.
“You feel the sense of urgency from Zeebo Latham,” Wommack told The Tuscaloosa News. “I don’t think people realize how important Jah-Marien was to us a year ago. He can play our Wolf. He can play our Bandit position. He can play 3-technique in a pinch. And when we lost him, we lost a lot of backup depth and versatility that we would have loved to have, you know what I mean, as we went into the rest of the season.”

Latham played in just 1 game, the season-opening loss against Florida State, last season. He missed the Louisiana-Monroe and Wisconsin games due to a lower-body injury. In practice ahead of the Georgia game, Latham suffered a neck injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season.
A Reform, Alabama native and Pickens County product, Latham has spent his entire college career with the Tide. The 2020 season did not count against his eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He then further extended his eligibility by playing only 4 games in 2021 and taking a redshirt.
Latham played in 39 games from 2022-24. In his career, he has 44 total tackles, including 4 TFLs with 2.5 sacks.
