Alabama names ‘Players of the Week’ following impressive win over Mizzou

The 6th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide tapped 8 players for its weekly Player of the Week honors following Saturday’s 27-24 victory over No. 14 Missouri in Columbia.

Alabama’s Players of the Week are freshman wide receiver Lotzier Brooks (offense/skill), freshman offensive lineman Micah DeBose (offense/scout), senior running back Dre Washington (special teams), sophomore wide receiver Cole Adams (special teams), freshman defensive back Dijon Lee Jr. (defense/skill), senior defensive lineman LT Overton (defense/power), senior defensive back Peyton Yates (defense/scout) and junior linebacker Lane Whisenhunt (special teams/scout).

Brooks led the Crimson Tide with 4 receptions for 58 yards, including a critical 29-yard reception on 4th-and-8 late in the fourth quarter. Adams returned a punt 15 yards against the Tigers. Lee made a solo tackle, had 1 pass breakup and hauled in an interception. Overton contributed 2 solo tackles, assisted on 4 more, and was in on 1½ sacks totaling 5 yards in losses.

Washington also played against Missouri but did not record a statistic.

The Crimson Tide play host to No. 11 Tennessee (7:30 pm ET, ABC) in the latest installation of the traditional Third Saturday in October rivalry.
