Alabama safety Bray Hubbard came to the rescue for the Crimson Tide defense for the 2nd time on Saturday against Wisconsin, ending a Badgers drive that could’ve given the guests from the Big Ten a ray of hope.

Instead, Hubbard was there yet again, making life miserable for Wisconsin quarterback Danny O’Neil. With Wisconsin at the Alabama 21-yard line and still 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter of the Week 3 nonconference collision in T-Town, O’Neil dropped back with the best of intentions. The Badgers trailed 35-7, but you never know in college football, and Wisconsin was looking for its first offensive points of the afternoon.

Hubbard ruined those plans, intercepting O’Neil’s pass just inside the Alabama 10-yard line, effectively ending any hope that Wisconsin had of getting back into the game. It was Hubbard’s second pick of O’Neil on the day, to go with his first-quarter interception.

Alabama’s social media account celebrated the interception with the headline, “BALL HAWK”:

Alabama added a field goal early in the fourth quarter to increase its lead to 38-7, which means that Hubbard and that Tide defense were still pitching a shutout of sorts. Wisconsin’s only points of the day up to that point had come on a 95-yard kickoff return, so special teams was responsible for the Badgers’ lone score.

On Saturday, Hubbard was responsible for torturing the Wisconsin offense and O’Neil specifically.
