Arkansas football has seen some major changes during the offseason. First, the Razorbacks brought in Ryan Silverfield from Memphis to be the next head coach.
On Wednesday, the school made another major announcement that all Arkansas student athletes will be wearing a Tyson patch on their jerseys starting next year.
The deal officially makes Tyson the ‘official protein’ of Arkansas. All 19 of their varsity programs will wear the patch on their jerseys, while the logo will be placed on both the playing fields as well as backdrops at the venue.
The move is the latest to happen in college sports, as LSU last month announced a similar partnership with Woodside Energy that will last seven years.
This won’t be the last either, as this has become an new opportunity for the schools to help compete in the ever-changing world of college sports and the NIL era. According to athletic director Hunter Yurachek, nearly 90% of the revenue will go to the athletes.
The Razorbacks are looking to get things rolling on that football field under Silverfield, and when the team takes the field against North Alabama on Sept. 5, the Razorbacks will be doing so with the Tyson patch on their jerseys.
