Arkansas quarterbacks coach Clint Trickett is apparently heading to the Big Ten for the 2026 season.

Trickett is expected to take the offensive coordinator position at Maryland, according to a report by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports on Tuesday afternoon.

The former quarterback at West Virginia and Florida State does have previous experience as an offensive coordinator, serving in that role at Jacksonville State. Trickett had big-time success while at Jacksonville State, helping the program become No. 1 in total offense in Conference USA during the 2025 season.

Now, after being hired by Arkansas as quarterbacks coach on Dec. 19, it appears that the 34-year-old West Virginia native is heading to Maryland after never coaching a game with the Razorbacks.

With Trickett reportedly headed for an offensive coordinator role in College Park, that puts the duties of last season’s OC, Pep Hamilton, in question as spring football approaches.

The Terrapins offense struggled under Hamilton’s direction last season, finishing just 95th in the country in points per game at 23.5 while averaging only 360 yards of total offense per contest, which ranked in the bottom half of FBS.

Now, it appears that Maryland is going in a different direction with its offensive coaching structure in 2026, and it has headed to the SEC to find its new offensive coordinator.
