The Arkansas Razorbacks have been without a pair of important receivers for the bulk of this summer, as Jared Cornelius (back) and T.J. Hammonds (knee) have dealt with significant injuries.

However, on Friday, coach Bret Bielema provided an update on the injured players, saying he expects a final determination of their Week 1 status to be made in the coming days.

According to 247Sports, Bielema and the Razorbacks have planned for both players to be on the field against Florida A&M:

“J-Red and T.J. Hammonds are both incorporated in the game plan,” Bielema said. “We’ll let them practice this week and make a decision probably next Tuesday, whether they’ll play or not.”

Having Cornelius and Hammonds both in the lineup will be a big boost for the Arkansas offense, which is thin at the receiver position.

The game against Florida A&M is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 31, in Little Rock. It can be seen at 7 p.m. Central time on the SEC Network.
