The Arkansas Razorbacks made the unsurprising move to fire head coach Sam Pittman following their blowout loss at the hands of Notre Dame on Saturday, and now the fallout from that decision is starting to hit on the recruiting front.

The Hogs have just lost the commitment of elite linebacker JJ Bush, a player who, according to Rivals recruiting analyst Hayes Fawcett, was the highest rated recruit in Arkansas’ 2026 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-3, 205 pound Alabama native is rated as the 15th best linebacker in the 2026 cycle, and had been committed to the Hogs since July 2nd. Now with Pittman out the door, Bush is officially back on the market, where he holds a total of 38 offers.

There is still a chance that the Razorbacks can regain Bush’s commitment, but whoever the new head coach in Fayetteville ends up being will have to put in some serious work in order to hold off other top programs like Alabama, LSU, and Miami.

Unfortunately for Arkansas, Bush is unlikely to be the last high school senior to decommit from the program, with many more highly rated players from their 2026 recruiting class likely to make a similar decision in the coming weeks.
