Arkansas OC Dan Enos happy with improvement from running backs

The Arkansas running game suffered a major setback this spring when star RB Rawleigh Williams III injured his neck and was forced to retire.
Now, the group is led by sophomore Devwah Whaley, but behind him, the Razorbacks are scrambling to find some depth.
It was a rough start for graduate transfer David Williams and freshmen Maleek Williams and Chase Hayden, but offensive coordinator Dan Enos told WholeHogSports.com that he’s liked what he’s seen from the unit in recent days:
“It’s been good, once we honed in on Florida A&M and the game plan there,” Enos said. “Blocking the structure our defense plays and blocking the structure in our first game is really two different things. So it’s been good.
“We have really challenged them physically, and I think our backs are doing a much better job. We’re playing really three new backs.”
Whaley ran for 602 yards and three touchdowns as a freshman in 2016 and will lead the Hogs’ ground attack this fall.
However, Enos needs a couple other backs to step up behind the talented sophomore or the unit will take a step back.
