Arkansas preparing for life without RB Chase Hayden after Saturday’s injury

Arkansas RB Chase Hayden has proven to be an explosive runner when he’s touched the ball this year.
In fact, the true freshman had 65 total yards on only three touches (two carries and one reception) before leaving with what looked to be a foot injury in the lopsided loss to Auburn.
Now, coach Bret Bielema is preparing his team to move on without Hayden, as he said after the game that it looks like the talented freshman could be out for quite a while.
โUnfortunately, weโll get future results, but heโll probably be out for a significant amount of time,” Bielema said in his postgame presser.
โI donโt want to comment until I know for sure but I know itโs a lower leg injury. Havenโt confirmed anything from there.โ
In seven games, Hayden carried 61 times for 326 yards and four touchdowns — promising numbers for the freshman.
How long he misses with the injury suffered Saturday remains to be seen, but it’s sad to see the talented back go down when he was starting to find his place in the Arkansas offense.
