Arkansas quarterback reportedly plans to enter transfer portal
The Arkansas Razorbacks are trying to rebuild under new head coach Ryan Silverfield in 2026. Following a 2-10 campaign, there are a lot of changes coming due. But a quarterback lower on the depth chart from this season won’t be sticking around to see them.
According to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett, Arkansas quarterback Trever Jackson will be entering the transfer portal. The former Florida State player will be at his 3rd school in 3 seasons when he finds his new locale for 2026.
Jackson was the No. 393 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Orlando, FL native originally committed to Ole Miss in 2023, but wound up beginning his career at Florida State.
He made just 1 appearance with the Seminoles in 2024 before transferring to Fayetteville, where he made only 1 appearance this season (and attempted just 1 pass) as a Razorback.
Jackson received offers from multiple Sun Belt schools, including Arkansas State and Marshall, during his early recruitment days. He has not been able to find playing time at the Power 4 level, so exploring opportunities in the Group of 5 would make sense. Finding a starting role at that level, as a redshirt sophomore, could allow him to better position himself for a Power 5 opportunity in 2027 or beyond.
