Arkansas runs full-page ad in Omaha newspaper to recruit fans

Arkansas’ marketing department took to a major newspaper of not-quite-a-neighbor-state Nebraska on Saturday.

The Razorbacks — or some Arkansas fan club, at the least — paid for a full-page ad in the Omaha World-Herald. The ad listed “10 REASONS TO JOIN OUR HOG PILE.”

Among the reasons:

  • “You can wear your Nebraska gear and blend in with our fans”
  • “Nothing like Calling the Hogs with some new friends”
  • “Our coach became a legend in your state:

I’m not sure how many Cornhuskers fans are going to sell their team gear on this June afternoon, rush to local sporting goods stores and scour the aisles for Razorbacks clothing and memorabilia, but kudos to Arkansas (or a sect of Arkansas fans) for trying.
