Auburn won’t play Alabama on the field for another 4 months or so, but the Tigers edged out their hated rivals in the recruiting world on Thursday with a big-time boost to their offensive line.

Four-star phenom Wilson Zierer committed to Auburn for the 2026 season, choosing to follow his brother Kilian to the Plains. Kilian Zierer started 15 games at left tackle for the Tigers during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Now, his brother Wilson has picked the same collegiate destination, and for him it was simply a matter of love.

“It just came down to me loving Auburn the most,” said Wilson Zierer, a Rabun Gap, Ga., product who is leaving the state of Georgia to play on the Plains like his older brother.

Auburn luring its 2nd Zierer brother to play on the offensive line is a double whammy victory, too, because Zierer was also considering bitter rival Alabama as well as Florida State.

Here is a picture of Zierer with the full Auburn backdrop, jacket and football:

Zierer is the 305th-ranked player in the Class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the 26th-ranked offensive tackle in the class and the 36th-ranked player from the state of Georgia.

Starting in the fall of 2026, there will be another Zierer playing on Auburn’s offensive line, and it won’t take long before he faces Alabama, the program he passed over to play on the Plains.
