It is possible the Hugh Freeze tenure at Auburn came to a cold close Saturday night at home.

In a 23-17 double-overtime loss to Missouri, Auburn missed 3 field goals. The Tigers went 75 yards in 12 plays on their opening drive to score a touchdown, then followed that possession up with an interception, a 3-and-out, a 3-and-out, a missed field goal from the Mizzou 22, and a missed field goal from the Mizzou 20.

In overtime, the Tigers lost 7 yards and missed a field goal on their opening possession. They survived because Mizzou missed a field goal of its own right after. But Missouri found the endzone to open the second overtime period.

The game ended on a fourth-down sack of quarterback Jackson Arnold.

With the defeat, Auburn dropped to 3-4 on the season. The Tigers have lost 4 straight after a 3-0 start. And Freeze now finds himself well underwater across his tenure.

Freeze is 14-18 overall as the Auburn head coach.

He is 5-15 against SEC teams.

He is 7-17 against other power conference opponents.

And he is 1-12 against ranked opponents.

Auburn fans voiced their displeasure with the state of the program as the game wound down. And the calls to fire Freeze grew into a roar. The Tigers play at Arkansas next Saturday, but many are now wondering if a change comes before then.
