Denairius Gray has changed his mind on where he wants to play in the SEC.

Auburn held Gray’s verbal commitment for over a year. Kentucky, however, continued to work at recruiting Gray, and now he is verbally pledged to play for Mark Stoops‘ program.

Out of Hollywood (Florida) Chaminade-Madonna High School, Gray is listed as measuring 6-2 and 190 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Gray is rated 4-stars, the No. 41 player in the state of Florida, No. 44 wide receiver and No. 268 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

Gray’s recruitment has been going on for more than 2 years. The Miami Hurricanes were the first program to extend a scholarship offer in November 2022. Things picked up in March 2023 when Florida, Auburn, LSU, Louisville and Florida State extended offers.

Kentucky got in the mix in May 2023. Gray, though, made an early commitment to Auburn on Jan. 1, 2024, nearly 2 years out from his first opportunity to sign.

The commitment to Auburn did not slow down Gray’s recruitment. He now has 38 scholarship offers. In recent weeks, Gray took visits to Kentucky, Auburn, Washington, NC State and Ole Miss. Gray decided that Lexington is where he wants to play college football next season.
